Photo of Willie on the Dog Cabin quilt This is Willie, the real quilt puppy. Willie is a papillon, which is a toy breed in the the spaniel family. "Papillon" mean "butterfly" in French. The breed received the name for their beautiful wing-like ears. Willie weighs seven pounds and is about the size of a cat.

Willie is a very good quilt dog. He keeps Kay company in the studio and is involved in every aspect of her quiltmaking, including pre-approving all of her quilts. See him at work here, checking out Poodlepalooza, the cover quilt for Dog Cabin and Others: A Fast Fun Theme-Quilt Project.
